Vintage Etienne Aigner Belt - Brown Saddle Leather Mid Century Wide Cinch Waist
A spectacular, late 1960s to early 1970s Etienne Aigner red brown leather belt with an applied black stripe around each edge. This belt measures 2 1/8" at the widest point, and tapers down to a small brass buckle. It is signed and stamped with an early patent number on the inside and in lovely vintage condition, with some signs of light overall wear. It was recently reconditioned with organix beeswax and is ready to wear. It will accommodate an XS to Small waist, from 23.5" up to 26".
Etienne Aigner, who lived from 1905-2000, was an Austro-Hungarian designer who worked for design houses such as Dior and Hermes in the 1950s before debuting his own signature line in 1965. This is a very early piece in supple, wearable condition! Aigner was renowned for his quality leather goods and though the brand has changed ownership, it can still be found in high-end retail shops today.
